SNAP and PAX
Both SNAP (Statistically Normalized Autocross Performance) and PAX provide
adjustment factors to put times from different classes on an qual footing.
SNAP is calculated from the previous seasons actual run-times. Only the fastest
drivers at the most competitive events are used in this analysis. SNAP can only
be calculated reliably for classes with sufficient participation.
The more traditional PAX
Factors are also based on the previous season's run times, but includes
a somewhat discretionary factor to take the performance potential of various classes
into account.
